Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

and Eucharistic Adoration

Each Monday at 5:30 p.m. the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for Eucharistic adoration. 

Altar Server

Altar Servers are boys, girls, men or women who assist the priest at Mass or Funeral masses to enhance the: worship of our faith community. Those who enter this ministry share the privilege of altar service. They also assume a special obligation to: the priest and people to be: faithful to their assigned  services and to be prayerfully attentive to their duties.  

Lector

Lectors proclaim the work of God at Mass. It is the lector's ministry to read the lessons from scripture and recite the psalms between the readings (if not sung), the Prayers of the Faithful and make the parish announcements for that week.  

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass to the faithful and to the sick and homebound. Those who are participate in this great privilege must distinguish themselves by their Christian life, faith, and morals and have a devotion to the Holy Eucharist and show themselves as examples to other faithful by their piety and reverence for this most holy sacrament of the altar. 

Usher

Ushers are volunteers take up the collection and who assist people to their seat if necessary.

Offertory Counters

A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Volunteers count about once a month.

Greeters

Greeters are parish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass and distribute the bulletin and hand-outs before or after Mass.

Gift Bearers

Gift Bearers are individuals or families that present the gifts of Bread and Wine to the Altar during the offertory.

Sacristan

Sacristans are responsible for preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass. Some of the tasks include preparing the vessels, the correct amount of bread and wine,and placing them in their proper place. Sacristan must come a little early and stay a little later their assigned Sunday. 

Finance  Councils

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Parish Pastoral Council

The PC is involved in advising the pastor on most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of the parish.

 

Why Catholic? 

Why Catholic? sessions are held during Lent and Advent at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays in Martin Hall. The Group enjoys sharing and learning more about the Catholic the faith.What the bulletin for details for the next session date and sign-up.     

Music Ministry

Join together in song,for the 5:00 p.m. Saturday vigil Mass. Rehearsals the first Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.in the church.

Grounds and Facilities Caretakers

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church and help with repairs and upkeep of the church and property.

RCIA

Catechist

Catechists share their faith and time by teaching Religious Education to our children grades Kn-8th grade. Parents are encouraged to volunteer for the Religious Ed. Program.

Arts & Environment

Volunteers for the Arts & Environment help with the decoration of the church and grounds, especially during Easter and Christmas.Flowers for the sanctuary are needed year around. Contact Terry Gordon for more information.

Funeral Luncheons

The parish offers funeral luncheons following    the funeral Mass or service for the families of  parish members who have passed away. Parish volunteer members bring in food for the meal and/or help to set-up and clean-up. To be notified of funeral luncheons and volunteer to bring food contact Carolyn Wooldridge or Nancy Moore.   

Knights of Columbus 

All men are welcome! Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Knights' meeting room in the school building at OLPH.

Rosary

Unite as a community praying the Rosary in commemoration of the visit to the three children at  Our Lady of Fatima each first Saturday of the month at Our Lady of Fatima parish at 8:00 a.m. The Mass Intention for the Mass is for the unborn and for all suffering servants.
